About projects making me happy
I like long-lasting products and services following ethical aspects such as environmental impact and barrier-free usability. As a designer and leader, I feel responsible for my outcome and participation in a team, which is why I follow a universal design approach.
Please find here the list of projects I worked on during the last 10 years:
Design Process
The so-called “Double Diamond” is a great way of visualizing an ideal design process, but I experienced that it’s not the way that most companies deliver new projects or services.
The original agile process was traditionally introduced starting with a problem and then we keep going to discovery, definition, validation, exploration, delivery and solution, which is often not real.
A more realistic approach is where somebody wants you to design something very specific and often time this person (for instance a Project Manager) thought it all through and just needs it to be done. So there might be already a solution to the problem and there might be no time to do research or to define or explore the problem space. This will not be the best solution and not even close to a perfect solution but it is a MVP. So we can launch fast, we get the insight and then we improve. Of course I prefer these glorious opportunities when there is time for research before starting a design process and I am also very aware of the risk publishing a immature MVP which could lead to user frustration and even deinstallation. It is a fine line but sometimes we have to walk on it.
